Why are we birthday cards?

Birthday cards are often kept for years, remember to clean the attic makes a time, and came across an old biscuit tin with the birthday of my birthday cards 16, 18 and 21, which really brought a smile to my face looking all the letter from the teenager of the people I have not seen in over two decades ....
